Effective immediately, the Town of Holyrood has implemented a temporary water ban due to critically low water levels resulting from prolonged dry conditions and increased water consumption.
The following activities are prohibited until further notice:
π§ Lawn watering (except as noted below for newly seeded or sodded lawns)
π Car washing
π Filling swimming pools or hot tubs
π§Ό Power washing driveways, decks, siding, or other outdoor surfaces
πΏ Any other non-essential outdoor water use
π± Newly Seeded or Sodded Lawns: To help establish new grass, watering is permitted only between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. and between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. for the first 21 days following installation. Residents are encouraged to use only the amount of water necessary.
These restrictions are necessary to help protect our community’s water supply and ensure there is enough water available for essential residential needs and emergency services, including fire protection.
We ask all residents to do their part by reducing water use wherever possible. Every litre saved makes a difference.
Town staff will continue to monitor water levels closely and will provide updates as conditions improve.
π For more information, please contact the Town Office at 709-229-7252 or visit www.holyrood.ca.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to helping conserve Holyrood’s water supply.
