💧 WATER SERVICE UPDATE💧

Council held a debriefing meeting this afternoon to discuss the Town’s current water situation, the work completed to date, and where we stand in completing the necessary repairs.

We are happy to inform residents that a loaner pump has been secured and is being installed today at the Liam Hickey Drive Pump House.

At this time, there is no definite timeframe for the restoration of water service. The installation involves a number of mechanical and electrical components that need to be prepared and properly connected before the pump can be brought into operation.

As work progresses, further updates will be provided when we can confirm the information and provide residents with accurate details.

🚰 WATER FOR HOUSEHOLD USE

A water truck is available at the intersection of Thermal Plant Road and the Conception Bay Highway (Hydro Road) until 7:00 PM today.

An additional water truck will be available beginning at 8:00 PM at NL Health Services, 363 Conception Bay Highway.

⚠️ This water is available for household use only and is NOT for consumption.

Residents are asked to bring their own clean containers.

💧 POTABLE WATER

Bottled water is available at the Hubert A. Keough Municipal Building until midnight tonight.

A potable water fill station is also available on the side of the Municipal Building for residents requiring drinking water.

❤️ A MESSAGE FROM COUNCIL

Council would like to sincerely thank all of the residents who brought such positivity, patience and kindness with them while picking up bottled water at the Town Office today.

Those interactions, especially during such a difficult situation, re-energized us as we continue our battle with the elusive leaks and the challenges we are facing with the Town’s water system.

We understand that this ongoing situation is frustrating, disruptive and difficult for residents, families and businesses.

We ask all residents to please remain patient, considerate and kind throughout this process. Our staff, crews and Council are continuing to work together and are doing everything within our ability to address the current issues and restore reliable water service to the community.

Thank you, Holyrood, for your continued patience, understanding and support. 💙
