Statement from Mayor Crawley & Council
Mayor Crawley and Council have made the difficult decision to cancel tonight’s SquidFest Beach Party Goes Country event due to the ongoing water emergency in the Town of Holyrood.
We recognize the significant amount of work, planning and preparation that has gone into tonight’s event, and we understand the disappointment this decision will cause for residents, visitors, performers, staff, volunteers, vendors and everyone who was looking forward to the evening.
However, given the ongoing water emergency, our priority must be the needs of our residents and our community. All available Town resources are currently being directed toward addressing the water situation, including securing water supplies and working toward restoring water service.
This was not a decision made lightly, but in the circumstances, we believe it is the responsible decision for our community.
We sincerely thank our staff, volunteers, performers, sponsors, vendors, contractors and community partners for their hard work and commitment to SquidFest. We also thank our residents and visitors for their patience, understanding and cooperation as we continue to respond to this emergency.
All tickets purchased through Showpass will be refunded. Refunds will be processed through Showpass to the original method of payment. Ticket holders do not need to take any action at this time.
Our residents come first, and our focus right now is on the water emergency and supporting our community through it.
Further updates regarding the water situation will continue to be provided as information becomes available.
