Several years ago, the Town of Holyrood launched a “Bin Bug” initiative to keep our municipality clean.
As part of this initiative, “Bin Bugs”, consisting of garbage and recycling bins were placed in three locations:
đź“ŤThermal Plant Road
đź“ŤMain Beach Area
đź“ŤRidge Road
Over the past year, it has become evident that these bins are not being utilized as intended. These bins are, instead, being filled with household or residential garbage.
As such, effective March 2025, crews will begin removing the “Bin Bug” containers at Ridge Road and Thermal Plant Road.
The Town of Holyrood reminds residents that, per Eastern Regional Service Board (ERSB), each household can dispose of up to five bags of household garbage each week. Additionally, there is no limit on the number of bags of recycling collected biweekly.
