Effective immediately, the Town of Holyrood is rescinding the temporary water ban that was implemented on July 8, 2026 due to low water levels resulting from prolonged dry conditions and increased water consumption.
Thanks to the cooperation of many residents and a reduction in overall water usage, water levels have improved. However, our water supply remains vulnerable, and water conservation measures continue to be in effect until further notice.
Residents are asked to continue limiting non-essential water use, including:
💧 Avoiding unnecessary lawn watering
🚗 Limiting car washing
🏊 Avoiding the filling of swimming pools or hot tubs where possible
🧼 Reducing power washing of driveways, decks, siding, and other outdoor surfaces
🚿 Conserving water wherever possible
🌱 Newly Seeded or Sodded Lawns: Residents with newly seeded or sodded lawns are encouraged to water when necessary to help establish new growth. To maximize water efficiency and reduce evaporation, watering is recommended during the cooler parts of the day, between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. or 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
While the temporary ban has been lifted, continued conservation remains important to help protect our community’s water supply and ensure sufficient capacity for essential residential needs and emergency services, including fire protection.
Town staff will continue to monitor water levels closely and provide further updates as conditions change.
