Wildfire Update – 9:30pm August 11, 2025

🔸The fire in Holyrood is now classified as “Under Control” by the Department of Forestry.

🔸There is minimal fire behaviour observed with the fire fully contained with hose lines.

🔸The Holyrood fire remains at 22 hectares with no growth reported. Ground crews from the Holyrood Fire Department and other mutual aid fire departments continue to support Forestry crews with water supply for suppression efforts.

🔸The fire at Island Pond on Salmonier Line has reignited. The Department of Forestry and the Holyrood Fire Department are aware. It is contained to the island itself, and there is no immediate risk to public safety at this time.

🔸We continue to see hotspots occur occasionally, and the fire department is responding effectively.

🔸This is a reminder that we all need to be careful at this time due to the dry weather and lack of moisture.

🔸People should not be using power saws. Check your properties to ensure you do not have any combustibles or fire hazards. Please dispose of any smoking materials in a safe manner.

🔸We’re asking all residents to conserve water overnight, as during the day we lose significant amounts of water from our supply due to fire suppression. Please turn off your sprinklers overnight tonight.

🔸Residents are advised that a province-wide fire ban is in effect until at least September 7th, 2025.
