The Town of Holyrood has lifted its Evacuation Order and terminated the State of Emergency.
No structures have been lost during this event, and we welcome families back to their homes. Smoke and hot spots are expected along Conception Bay Highway and Green Acres. Residents are advised to call 911 to report any changes in conditions they observe.
Ground crews from the Holyrood Fire Department and other mutual aid fire departments will support the Department of Forestry by monitoring the site throughout the night.
The Town of Holyrood Emergency Operations Centre has been deactivated, and the Town of Holyrood will return to normal business operations.
Today, the Town experienced a water leak on Conception Bay Highway. The issue has been repaired, and water service has been restored.
We ask that you continue to conserve water given the recent events in our Town.
For those on private wells who require bottled water, the Hubert A. Keough Municipal Building will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. tomorrow, August 10, where water will be available.
Residents are reminded of the Air Quality Warning due to smoke from ongoing wildfires. Smoke from wildfires will significantly reduce air quality downwind of these fires.
