🔸No structures have been lost at this time.
🔸Ground crews from the Holyrood Fire Department and other mutual aid fire departments continue to work on site, supporting the Department of Forestry in their efforts.
🔸The fire at Island Pond on Salmonier Line has rekindled. Both the Department of Forestry and the Holyrood Fire Department are aware and are taking the necessary actions. There is no immediate danger to the public.
🔸The Emergency Operations Centre will continue to work with various partners, including government agencies and others, to ensure informed decision-making moving forward.
🔸The Town experienced a water leak on Conception Bay Highway this morning. Water has been shut off for this area. Crews are on-site, and water will be restored as soon as possible. Water conservation remains in effect given the amount of water used for fire suppression. Please be cautious and use water wisely.
🔸The fire zone remains a safety risk. Please avoid the area to allow first responders to complete their duties.
🔸NO RETURN to area until safe to do so has been declared by the Town of Holyrood.
🔸Residents are reminded of the Air Quality Warning due to smoke from ongoing wildfires. Smoke from wildfires will significantly reduce air quality downwind of these fires. Smoke conditions may vary locally as wind and fire behaviour changes. 🔸Residents are advised that a province-wide fire ban is in effect until at least September 7th, 2025.
