Build-A-Chilly
Let’s cover the town in snowmen! It’s your chance to build our mascot, Chilly, on your property. Email photos of your creation to info@holyrood.ca for your chance to win! Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place entries. In the event that there is no snow, bonus points will be given for creativity! Deadline to enter: Sunday, February 22 at 11:59pm.

Join us for a sing-a-long with The Arts & Aging’s Sunshine Singers musical group. An opportunity for social engagement and participation followed by tea, coffee, and light refreshments.

Calling all teens in Grades 7–12! Join us for the Crystal Carnival Teen Dance – Glow Party, a fun and safe night of music, dancing, and glowing vibes as part of Crystal Carnival. All proceeds from this event will support Roncalli Central High’s Robotics Team as they travel to Houston, Texas to compete at the World Championships. Open to students currently enrolled in Grades 7–12. Pre-purchase your ticket online. Supervised, drug/alcohol-free event. Enjoy our family Winter outdoor movie under the stars at Centennial Softball Field. Dress warm and bring chairs or blankets. Firepits will be lit, with hot chocolate and canteen service available throughout the night. Event is weather dependent.

Cheer on the Newfoundland Regiment Hockey Team as they take on the Cape Breton Eagles in an exciting matchup with a 7:00 PM puck drop. Your registration includes game admission and round-trip bus transportation. The bus departs promptly at 5:30 PM from the Hubert A. Keough Municipal Building, making it an easy, hassle-free way to enjoy the game.
Carnival Cabin Party Dance

Explore Holyrood this winter with the Holyrood Trail Association and a guided snowshoe adventure. Trail members will lead the way, sharing insights and stopping at key points of interest along the route.
Meet at the top of Butterpot Road.
Chili Cook-Off & Family Fun Day

$10 per person + surcharge for Chili Cook-Off | FREE for Family Fun Day
Join us for a fun-filled winter afternoon at the Community Playground on Kennedy’s Lane Ext. from 1:00–3:00pm!
The Family Fun Day is free to attend and includes face painting, music, games, hot chocolate, firepits, and a snow fort building competition — perfect for all ages (no tickets required).
This ticket provides access to the Chili Cook-Off tasting in support of Holy Cross Elementary. Sample a variety of homemade chilis from local residents and businesses and help crown this year’s winner. Chili tasting requires a ticket per person. Family Fun Day activities remain free for all. Email recreation@holyrood.ca to enter your chili in the cook-off!
Bonfire Night & Fireworks Display
6:30pm | Main Beach & Boardwalk Area | Free
Don’t miss our fireworks display we close out Crystal Carnival with a night under the stars, a beach bonfire, and hot chocolate and smores for everyone. Fireworks launched from Festival Grounds at 7:00pm.
POST-CARNIVAL EVENT
CRYSTAL CUP DART TOURNAMENT
Date: Saturday, February 28
Location: Star of the Sea
Time: Registration 9:30am | Tournament 10:00am
Cost: $10.00 per player
Teams will consist of 5 players with either 3 men and 2 women or 3 women and 2 men with 1 spare. This tournament is open to the public. For more information, call Roz at (709) 691-7201.
