Public Advisory: Evacuation Order Lifted for Area of Holyrood and Conception Bay South Impacted by Holyrood Wildfire

The evacuation orders, issued on August 4 and 5, 2025, for a section of the Town of Holyrood and a section of the Town of Conception Bay South, have been officially lifted by the municipalities. Impacted residents can return to their properties.

Route 60, or Conception Bay Highway is now open.

Residents returning are advised that there is still an active fire and there are fire crews on scene working hot spot areas. Residents who are returning to their properties are asked to proceed with caution and to seek guidance from town officials and first responders, if needed.

Well Water Impacts

If a fire or wildfire has occurred close to your well or property, it may impact well water.

The Department of Environment and Climate Change, through the Water Resources Management Division, can provide well testing for any well owners impacted by fire or wildfire. This is free of charge.
