Province-Wide Off-Road Vehicle Restriction

The Town of Holyrood advises residents that, effective immediately, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, pursuant to the Forestry Act, has enacted a province-wide restriction of Off-Road Vehicle use on forested land, until Sunday, August 17, when it will be reassessed.

The Town of Holyrood fully supports this restriction, and we are asking all residents who use all-terrain vehicles to please abide by the provincial order to help reduce fire risk and protect our town. This restriction applies to the entirety of the Town, including t’railways and side roads, as our community remains in a high fire index area surrounded by forests.

The following off-road vehicles are prohibited:
All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), Side by Sides, Mini bikes, Dirt bikes, Trail bikes, Miniature vehicles (dune/sport buggies), Off-road maintenance vehicles, Amphibious vehicles.

Any use of these vehicles by owners/operators will be reported to the Department of Forestry.
