A Domestic Water Conservation Plan is currently in effect for the Town of Holyrood. Through these measures, the Town hopes to avoid having to issue a ban on outside water usage. All residents are encouraged to please use water wisely.
Watering of Existing Lawns
Watering of existing lawns with a sprinkler system is restricted to 2 days per week, between the hours of 5:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m., in accordance with the following schedule: Even civic address numbers on Wednesday and Saturday. Odd civic address numbers on Thursday and Sunday.
Watering of New Lawns
New lawns and landscaping are exempt from the lawn watering restrictions for a period of 60 days following installation and plantation, however, watering is designated between the hours of 5:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. Lawns that are hydro seeded are exempt for a similar period of 60 days and can also be watered for 20-30 minutes between 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Hand watering of trees, shrubs, flowers, and vegetable gardens with a water can or hose with an automatic shut off nozzle is permitted at any time.
Swimming Pools
If you have an in-ground or above-ground pool and plan on filling it with Town water, you are required to contact the Town Office for a permit. Staff will coordinate appropriate times for you to avail of Town water. These times will be later in the evening and throughout the night.

Yes – But water should not be left running when children are not using these toys.
Can I wash my car?
Yes – Residential washing of cars is permitted with the use of a hose with an automatic shutoff nozzle.
Can I wash my driveway or parking lot?
No – Washing of paved driveway or parking lot is prohibited.
Can I have a car wash fundraiser?
Yes – Car washes for fund-raising are permitted with the use of an automatic shutoff nozzle. Free flowing car washes, even for the purpose of fundraising, are not permitted. Automatic shutoff nozzles are required to be utilized at all times.
Can I wash my siding and windows?
Yes – siding and window washing is permitted with the use of an automatic shutoff nozzle.
