The Town of Holyrood is planning a new Community Centre designed to be a flexible, multi-purpose gathering space for the entire community; a multi-purpose space designed for people to gather, connect, and host a wide variety of activities. While it includes a full-size court and a small fitness area, its focus is on adaptable spaces for community events, meetings, markets, and social gatherings. It should be noted that this facility is a community centre, not a traditional recreation centre or sports complex.
The vision is centered around a large, open-concept facility that can easily adapt to a wide variety of uses. At its core will be a full-size court surface within a spacious hall that can be divided into smaller sections, allowing multiple activities to take place at the same time. This flexible design supports everything from recreational sports and fitness programs to community events, markets, and social gatherings.
In addition to the main space, the facility is planned to include multi-use meeting rooms, a commercial kitchen to support events and programming, a small fitness area, and event space suitable for hosting functions of all sizes.
This approach ensures the building remains versatile, accessible, and responsive to the evolving needs of the community—creating a welcoming hub where residents can come together to stay active, connect, and celebrate.
Your feedback will help shape how this space is used and ensure it reflects the needs and priorities of Holyrood residents.
