The Town of Holyrood has received a complaint regarding dogs once again roaming within the community.
Dogs running at large pose risks to children, seniors, other pets, and motorists. Residents have the right to feel safe walking in their neighbourhoods. Even well-behaved dogs can create fear or unpredictable situations when not properly controlled.
Dogs must be secured at all times. They are to be properly tethered, contained within a secure fenced area, or leashed and under direct supervision when off your property. Allowing a dog to roam freely is not acceptable.
Residents wishing to provide off-leash exercise may use the Town’s designated dog park on Salmonier Line.
As the owner, you should be aware of your dog’s whereabouts at all times. If this involves your dog, you, as the owner, must take corrective measures immediately to ensure compliance. Take ownership and ensure your dog is properly secured.
Failure to comply will result in the matter being referred to the RCMP for enforcement.
