After the recent heavy snowfall, the Town of Holyrood is asking residents to take a few extra minutes to help keep everyone safe and help essential services continue to run smoothly.
🔥 Fire Hydrants
If there is a fire hydrant on or near your property, please take a moment to clear the snow around it. When firefighters respond to an emergency, every second truly counts, and having hydrants visible and accessible can make a real difference. A small effort now can help in a big way when it matters most.
🗑️ Garbage & Waste Collection
With waste collection scheduled for tomorrow, residents are also reminded to clear snow and ice from garbage boxes and collection areas. Making sure they are visible and easy to access helps collection crews work safely and efficiently, especially following a major snowfall.
🚶♂️🚗 General Winter Safety
As cleanup continues, please remember to take your time when travelling, use extra caution on snow-covered or icy roads and walkways, and clear steps, driveways, and sidewalks where possible. Checking in on neighbours — especially seniors or anyone who may need a hand — is always appreciated during these conditions.
Public Works crews are continuing snow clearing operations as weather and conditions allow. Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and for looking out for one another.
Stay safe and take care, Holyrood.
