🚫🔥Province-wide Fire Ban in Effect🚫🔥

The Holyrood Fire Department wishes to advise all citizens that a provincial fire ban has been put in place across Newfoundland and Labrador. Therefore, the ban that is currently in place within the Region, which includes the Town of Holyrood, Salmonier Line, Deer Park, and Middle Gull Pond, will continue until further notice.

🚫 Not allowed:

• Outdoor wood-burning appliances

• Charcoal BBQs

• Open fires

✅ Still permitted:

• Propane firepits

• Propane BBQs

The Holyrood Fire Department reminds you to be fire safe when using propane firepits and barbeques, to keep a hose or fire extinguisher handy and follow manufacturer’s requirements regarding clearances from combustible materials. Also, we would like to remind citizens that, if you smoke, do not throw your lit cigarette butt on the ground or out of a vehicle window.

HFD will monitor this situation closely over the next few days and update when applicable.

Effective immediately, the Holyrood Fire Department is advising all citizens that due a fire hazard rating of HIGH, and the forecasted weather conditions, a fire ban is currently in effect for the Town of Holyrood, Salmonier Line, Deer Park, and Middle Gull Pond.

The fire ban will remain in effect until Thursday, June 19, 2025, and will be re-evaluated on that day.

The fire ban includes all fires (open fires, backyard firepits, beach fires), along with outdoor wood-burning appliances, such as smokers and chimineas, charcoal BBQs, and fireworks.

Propane firepits and BBQs are permitted. HFD are asking citizens to be fire safe when using propane firepits and barbeques, to keep a hose or fire extinguisher nearby, and follow manufacturer’s requirements regarding clearances from combustible materials.
