Town of Holyrood Receives Federal and Provincial Funding

Member of Parliament for the Riding of Avalon, Ken McDonald visited The Beach Head in the Holyrood Municipal Office on Tuesday, March 14th to make a significant funding announcement for the Town. M.P. McDonald began the announcement with $9,000 to be allocated to the local Marina Golden Age 50plus Club and $12,000 invested into the Town’s Forever Young 50plus Wellness Program all through the Federal New Horizons Program. The Federal Government also contributed $6,700 towards Holyrood’s annual SquidFest.
To conclude the funding announcement the M.P. revealed a total of $79.432 that is to be invested into the second phase of the Oceans Holyrood Initiative. M.P. McDonald added that this “represents the next step in fueling the growth and creating jobs in the ocean sector within the town.” Betty Parsley, MHA for the District of Harbour Main joined Ken in announcing a contribution of $43,481 towards OHI from the province. As these are all significant dollars to help make Holyrood a great place to Live, Learn, Work, Play, and Invest we would like to thank both Ken McDonald and Betty Parsley for their announcements and the contributions to Holyrood.
