Community Events

Holyrood has one of the best yearly schedule of events on the island! Our Recreation Department does a great job of balancing our Community Events so they are not jammed into our week long festivals. Whether it’s Christmas, Halloween, Easter, Canada day, or just a regular weekend Holyrood always has great activities for all age groups to enjoy!

Toy Mountain
Date: November 25 – December 14

For the 8th year the Town of Holyrood is on a mission to help Conception Bay Centre families this Christmas. As we move through COVID-19, Toy Mountain will be a little different as we will only be accepting gift cards and monetary donations. The Town will work with each
community to ensure those in need benefit from the program.

How to Donate:
Those wanting to donate to our Toy Mountain Campaign can use the following methods:
E-Transfer: Please send your monetary donations to
info@holyrood.ca. Ensure you note Toy Mountain.
Drop-Box: Donors can drop their donations off at the
drop-box located to the left of the main door at the
Hubert A. Keough Municipal Building.
Holy Cross Park: Starting December 4 cash and gift
card donations can be dropped off each night between
Magnolia Hair Studio (Colliers): Cash and gift card
donations can be dropped off during regular business
hour .
Town of Avondale: Accepting Gift Cards during regular business hours.

Santa’s Christmas Village
Due to COVID-19 we will not be having our annual Park Lighting and Christmas Concert. The Park will be open as of Tuesday, December 8.Village Hours

Wreath Making Night
Location: Royal Canadian Legion
Date: Tuesday, December 8
Time: 6:30pm
Cost: $15.00.
Tickets: On sale Wednesday, November 18 at 9:00am by calling 229-7252 ex.t 201
Included in the cost: Tree boughs, ring, wire, and ribbon. Please feel free to bring your own decorations.

Ornament Making with Clay Café
Location: Royal Canadian Legion

Hunt for Santa
Location: Holyrood Parks and Open Spaces
Date: December 12-15
The Hunt for Santa is on! We have 20 rock-painted Santa’s placed throughout the following sites:
• Boardwalk
• Santa’s Village at Holy Cross Park including the Loop Trail
• All Playground Sites
• Dog Park
• Skate Park
• George Cove Mountain
Find one of our Santa’s and turn it into the Hot Chocolate Stand located at Santa’s Christmas Village at Holy Cross Park to receive your gift.
Christmas Tree Recycling
Date: January 3 – 12, 2021
Residents wishing to dispose of their real Christmas trees can drop them off for recycling behind the Holyrood Community Garden at the Yard Waste Drop-Off starting Sunday, January 3 for one week. The last day for drop-off is Sunday, January 10. Please do not wrap or place the tree in a bag and please ensure all ornaments and lighting have been removed before dropping off.
