Canada Day Fireworks Postponement | Holy Cross Park Lighting Orange

June 29, 2021

In recognition and support of the indigenous communities throughout the country and our province, the Town of Holyrood has decided to postpone the fireworks show slated for Canada Day- Thursday, July 1st at 10:00pm.
Fireworks will now take place during SquidFest at the Holyrood Waterfront on Sunday, July 18 at 10:00pm.
In lieu of the Canada Day Fireworks, the Town will be lighting Holy Cross Park in orange between 9:00pm and midnight on Thursday, July 1 in support of residential school survivors, their families, and indigenous communities across Canada. It will also stand as a tribute to the lives lost and the harms inflicted by the residential school system.
The Canada Day Kick-Off scheduled for 10:00am on Thursday has also been cancelled. Self-directed activities for residents to observe Canada Day are available by visiting www.holyrood.ca/canadaday.
