December 16, 2017

With significant snowfall in the forecast for Saturday into Sunday over-night and a very cold and windy Sunday afternoon we are forced to officially CANCEL the 2017 Holyrood Santa Claus Parade.
During the planning stages of the parade, safety is always our number 1 priority. The storm’s snow accumulation combined with a -13 windshield and upwards of 70km winds for Sunday afternoon creates an unsafe environment for the parade and would put participants, spectators, and volunteers at risk.
Children can still have the opportunity to meet Santa at our Christmas at Holy Cross Park on Monday and Tuesday between 6:00pm and 8:00pm. Santa will be on site meeting children, taking pictures and giving out treat bags as we wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!
Mayor, Council and Staff would like to take this opportunity to thank all the businesses, community groups, families, and volunteers who put extensive time and effort into making our parade another big success. We apologize for this inconvenience and we look forward to your participation in 2018!
Those with gifts for Toy Mountain or the Food Bank can drop them at the Holyrood Municipal Office during regular business hours or at Christmas at Holy Cross Park between 6:00pm-8:00pm.
Thank you to all for your understanding and we wish a safe weekend and a very Merry Christmas!
