Important Notice From the office of the Fire Chief
August 3, 2018
The Town of Holyrood is issuing an immediate Ban on Recreational Open Air Burning within the Municipality of Holyrood, LSD – Deer Park, the Salmonier Line, up to and including the Wilds, the Old Prison Camp Road Area, Belbin’s area and Middle Gull Pond areas due to the extreme heat and lack of precipitation causing dry conditions.
- Included in the ban is all open-air burning which includes cooking fires, fireworks and sparklers and other types of outdoor burning.
- Outdoor fires at beaches, and other water bodies are prohibited
- Barbecues and other gas appliances are permitted under the ban, but the Holyrood Fire Department advises residents to be careful when cooking.
During this time no new fire permits will be issued and existing permits are hereby cancelled.
This fire ban is instituted immediately and will be in force until further notice
